AI creation enters the realm of Christian Music

I was looking for new church music / hymns on YouTube for a second Church Music playlist and was surprised to see the dozens of AI created songs both audio and video. Many feature celebrity singer images whose voice AI endeavors to mimic. (Some of the popular ones are Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, David Phelps, Enya, Celine Dion, Christian Hale Michael Bennett , George Paul etc). But all say in a disclaimer;

This is an independent  AI -assisted cover version, and is not performed by the artist(s) pictured, and the vocals and musical arrangement are independently created.  All rights to the original song belong to their respective copyright owners.

I can not say that I have heard any of these hymns sung by the artist pictured  in the YouTube version. What I can say, they all feature exquisite singing and orchestration. And yes, there is a common thread of Christian purpose, but I didn’t  find one shared denomination, church network, or kind of ministry behind these AI creations .

AI Music raises a rather profound question to some:

I remember my first reaction hearing “Thank You Jesus”. It choked  me up with emotion. ‘Wow’ I thought, ‘where did this song come from?' Then it was brought to my attention by a friend to whom I sent a copy, that it was created by AI. It kind of knocked the wind out of me. How could a piece of Christian music mentioning Jesus through out, bring tears to someone's eyes be created by a computer? If I had read the small print first (the disclaimer) would I have had the same reaction?

I quickly learned to think of it this way. If it wasn’t a hymn, I wouldn’t give it a second thought. If God’s greatest creation, man can create a symphonic masterpiece about Jesus, why cant man create a highly complex machine, to do that work for him. After all man created the automobile which replaced the horse making it easier to get to church.

Here is my second playlist of predominately, Artificial Intelagence 'generated', Christin Church Music.
